Xray had a very successful weekend at the 2 day national. Jon qualified 3rd, won his semi final and won the 45 minute main final. Ryan was 8th in qualifying, 2nd in his semi and 4th in the main final. The Xray B team drivers did well with Matt Perry finishing 8th in the main final, Lee Taylor was going well once again, by qualifying straight into the semi's, but had radio problems during the final and had to pull out. Mark Dell and Allan Bridgeman also made the semi's, making a total of 6 XB8's in the semi finals.

Championship rivals David Crompton and Jamie Booth put up a good fight during the wet & sticky main final. With Jon having to climb through the field from a lowly 8th on the grid (it rained during Jon's semi and although he won, all of the next semi bump ups went faster and hence were placed higher on the grid), he soon overhauled the leaders and opened a healthy gap. With 10 minutes to go Jamie's car broke and with 2 minutes to go David's engine stopped. This relived the pressure as Jon cruised to victory. This now means Jon is leading the national championship after 4 rounds of 10 completed.

The car ran very well all weekend and only a few changes from round 1 were made. Jon set the fastest 5 minute run time in qualifying but a mistake or two saw him loose the opportunity to take overall top qualifier. For the finals day the car was left the same with exception of different tyre inserts and no trimming of spikes.

Next national is 18th June at Southend. A track Jon is very familiar with having TQ'ed and won last year.
